Why would I need a VPS for AI?
A virtual server keeps things running when your computer is off: a Telegram bot that calls a model, an agent that works through a queue overnight, an automation tool such as n8n, or a small model you host yourself. This page lists VPS hosts suited to that kind of work.
Where do the plans and prices come from?
For Hetzner, Vultr and Linode the plans are read from their public APIs and refreshed weekly. DigitalOcean, Contabo, OVHcloud and netcup have no such API, so their cheapest plans are entered by hand, and each card shows the date of that check. The price is the lowest monthly plan; each card also shows the number of regions, the payment methods and whether new customers have to pass an ID check.
How big a server do I need?
A bot or agent that calls an API: the model runs at the provider, so a small plan is usually enough.
An automation tool with a database: a little more memory helps, but still an entry-level plan.
A model you run yourself: the whole model has to fit in memory, so RAM decides what you can run; for anything large you need a GPU plan.
If you want to run models on your own hardware instead, see the local LLM apps.
What should I check before buying?
Prices are shown without VAT unless the card says otherwise, so add the tax of your country. Some hosts advertise their lowest price for long terms, and hourly billing with a monthly cap differs from a fixed monthly contract. GPU plans appear only where the host's API returns them.
Are the links on this page partner links?
Where a host runs a referral or affiliate programme and we use it, the card says "Partner link". It changes neither the order nor the facts shown.
